What does it feel like to walk on water?
Peter knew. He was the only one that day who joined Jesus on the waves. By his bold faith, he experienced something beyond logic and natural laws. What he did was scientifically impossible. It had to be glorious and exhilarating- perhaps even the highlight of his life so far.
But then he doubted.
And doubt would have killed him if it were not for the saving hand of Jesus.
How quickly his faith turned to doubt!
What a tragic turn in an amazing story!
We are just like Peter in so many ways.
Doubt is your enemy, Christian! It wants to destroy your faith and your life. It is a servant of Satan and comes ready to wage war on the redeemed of God. And if you don't take your stand, it might just succeed.
A few weeks ago during my quiet time with God, He brought to my mind James 1:5-8.

For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. (ESV)
I usually read this passage as if the main lesson is obtaining wisdom. But on this particular morning, God wanted me to hear Him talk about doubt. Here is what I wrote in my journal after reading it:
I wish I could tell you that I have a fully-developed battle plan in place against doubt... but it is a work in progress. Here are three strategies I am currently employing to slay this enemy:
It is time for Christians in America to stop letting doubt strangle our spiritual power and effectiveness! Doubt is out to destroy you! Will you take a stand with me? Let's kill doubt before it kills us!
